Wow - what a great restaurant! We need something kid friendly on the UES and this place has a kids menu so it won. But being good for kids didn't compromise quality for the rest of the family. This spot is great for families and for first dates! It has a vast bar with fun Greek beers and a good wine list! The food is delicious! The calamari was tender and not overcooked. The chicken souvlaki was moist and authentic. I really loved the Greek tabouli salad that comes with the platter. There was a little issue (on OUR end) with the reservation but this restaurant was so flexible and accommodating! We were wrong and they were super kind. Everything was great - food, ambiance, menu but these were dwarfed but the charming, attentive service. Overall 5 stars.
This place is such a gem! Everyone who works here is so kind, personable, and professional. The bartenders all have great energy and make you feel instantly comfortable and taken care of--perfect for solo diners or dates alike. The wine is honestly next level...it is very rare to see such a diverse and extensive Greek wine list on any menu, especially at such reasonable prices. I am a pescatarian and the food here is so fresh, flavorful, and healthy, and there are so many options for anyone. Plus it is open all day, which is much needed on the UES. This is my new neighborhood go-to and I recommend it to anyone/everyone looking for the perfect local spot.
Delicious, really good Nice sized portions Felt like I was in Greece eating a great Gyro & fries
The pork gyro platter was SO flavorful and delicious - the tabouli was the star of the show. It balanced out the tender pork gyro & crispy fries so well! This platter was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I to share. A great spot for big & small groups :) So excited to try more at this spot.
Tasty vegan-friendly food that is on the healthier side which we really appreciated! The food is not overly salty or oily. Love that they have whole wheat pita.
This place is a GEM! Seriously everything here is so good! Really really really liked this Greek place. All spreads were good and the pork gyro platter was really really good. Yellow mustardy sauce was BOMB. Rice was good as well. Really cute in there. And honestly really fairly priced/cheap option to go sit and eat. Seriously we come here all the time to sit and for takeout. The platters and gyros are such a good deal!
It was my first time trying this place tonight, and it was AMAZING! My birthday is tomorrow (August 18th), so I came here with my grandma to get the celebration started. First of all, let me start by saying how adorable the decór is. There were candles on each table, white walls, and hints of blue. It felt like we were in Greece. The waitstaff were very attentive, and every time I was running low on water, they noticed right away, swooping in to give me a refill. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The food was really the star of the show. My grandma and I both enjoyed a glass of Anastasia Greek wine, which had the perfect flavor- not too dry, which I prefer. For the appetizer, we shared taramasalata, which has to be one of my favorite dips in the world besides hummus. Needless to say, it was delicious. The warm pita bread only added to the experience of sopping it up. We devoured every last morsel. Finally, for the main dish! I ordered the salmon souvlaki platter. It came with taboule, Greek fries, pita, tzatziki sauce and another unknown dip that I didn't end up using. There's something to be said about grilled salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection, moist on the inside with the most heavenly crisp on the outside. You truly can't beat it. I ate all of the souvlaki, pita, and taboule, and got too full before I could finish the fries. I did try one or two of them though, and they were also great- can't go wrong with Greek fries! Right as we finished our meals, the waitress came over with a birthday dessert for me, complete with a candle. It was the Greek yogurt with sour cherry compote. It took me by surprise, but it was the perfect way to end an amazing meal. The Greek yogurt itself is unsweetened, but the cherry compote adds just the right amount of sweetness to it without being overpowering. Really solid dessert! All in all, I'm happy my grandma took me here tonight! While it's a bit on the pricier end, it's perfect for a special occasion. If you're looking for some kickass Greek in the Upper East Side, look no further!
Great tasting and decently portioned Greek food in an enjoyable bright space. There's quite a couple of places up here with relatively similar menus, but I've gone to yasouvlaki the most because: 1) the decor is bright, airy and modern - it feels less like you're in some uncle's mcmansion and more like you're actually in a chic seafood cafe. 2) food prices are really great - the platter is a monster of a meal, and their lunch specials are very reasonable for the area. Nice quality individual glasses of wine can be gotten at around the $12-15 mark. 3) the staff is... really good looking?!? I mean, like noticeably everyone looks like a model. Are they operating an agency out of here? They're pretty on top of things and doing their jobs too.
